Get to know Luca Colombo
Luca Colombo manages the Facebook activities in the Italian market, promoting a strategy aimed at advancing the mission of the Social Network , to give people the ability to share and make the world more open and connected and to consolidate it as a tool to support business , to communicate in a direct and engaging way with consumers and users.
The Head of a dynamic team, highly qualified and committed to supporting companies and users throughout the country , Luca is responsible for consolidating the brand in Italy , highlighting the opportunities for social enterprises and to disseminate the value for the Italian territoty.
He joined Facebook in November 2010 with a strong experience in the digital marketing space which he acquired whilst at Microsoft, holding important positions; acquiring different skills and always more strategic which led him to be named the 2008 Consumer & Online Marketing Officer of the Windows Business and Windows Phone departments with the goal of expanding the adoption and expansion of the use of online services.
In 2006, he was appointed Marketing Director of the Online division. Driven by a passion for technology and new media, he contributed to the growth of products such as Messenger and Hotmail in the Italian market by bringing them to leadership in their respective categories.
After joining Microsoft in 2000, responsibile for Business Development in the MSN division, he quickly rose to become Sales Director where he had the task of building and developing the advertising sales house of Microsoft Italy.
Prior to joining Microsoft, he worked at Mondadori from 1995 serving as the Business Development Manager at Mondadori’s Informatica Education Division. Luca graduated in electronic engineering from the Politecnico of Milan and is married with two children.
